One of my favourite blogs “Inqmnd” published yesterday some pics made by Ricky Flores, a bronx-born and self taught photographer. Flores used to depict the life of latinos in the heights of Manhattan and of course, the Bronx.
This time the subject is a demonstration held in July 92 “after the shooting of Jose “Kiko” Garcia by an undercover police officer.”
I particularly love this live report because it documents a big social issue in the US (243 black & white photographs) and because I used to hang out in Washington Heights last year and I never heard of this event.(Big Up to Marcos & Ruth)
So the right words are: thanks to Inqmnd for finding this and thanks to Ricky Flores to share his works on Flick’r
