Mochilla is the association between B+ and Eric Coleman both photographers and directors as a production company, based in Los Angeles.
You probably heard of them on Keepintime and more recently Brasilintime ,2 projects which consisted of gathering 2 eras and 2 schools of music. On one hand, musicians from Jazz, Soul, Funk, Popular Brazilian Music and on the other hand Beatmakers & DJ’s. The result is : music at its finest. Two DVD’s still available that you really need to watch if it’s not done yet.
So back to the news of the day, that’s what the website says :
“Secondly on February the 22nd we will be releasing Suite For Ma Dukes. It is an Orchestral tribute to the music of one of our favorite producers. The music was composed and arranged by Miguel Atwood-Ferguson and produced by Carlos Nino and Benjamin Tierney – it is amazing. All strings, horns and reids. You’ve never heard hiphop like this before”
I figure that they were talking about J Dilla. The team Nino/Atwood already made an orchestral version of “Nag Champa” (cf Common’s Like Water For Chocolate) in 2007 + the name of the project “Suite For Ma Dukes” is more than explicit as we know that Miss Yancey is also known as “Ma Duke”.
Can’t wait to hear some stuff, just check Mochilla’s website regularly or just sign in for the newsletter

Just passing by.Btw, you website have great content!

Je pense que c’est un + de parler anglais pour un blog francophone. Surtout pour narrer les délires fumant et cosmiques de Mochilla.
