Dilouya is a young French producer based in Paris who learnt the ropes with his father, a music lover and traveller with great taste for exotic percussions. Being drawn to drums and piano made a perfect combination for the inspired producer he would later become, sourcing the influences from the greats such as Stevie Wonder, Quincy Jones, Lennon-McCartney, Prince and the groove from Michael Jackson as well as the dynamic Acid-Jazz movement of the time.

Early days saw him trying out with various bands and experimenting with the groove from Soul music combined with more contemporary Jazz, Funk and Pop sounds. Very quickly though he managed to get collaborations going, all drawn to his writing skills and production work, with the likes of Omar and John Turell, Hugh Coltman but also with French soul talents such as Sly Johnson (from Saian Supa Crew) and China Moses (Dee Dee Bridgewater’s daughter). With all-round skills from that of writing to playing instruments and arrangements, Dilouya works with music, in the same way that the original producers did, wrapping his signature sound around the diverse skills of his guests. Dilouya manages the final master trick, by bringing all these distinctive talents from the French and British soul music scenes together to perform on his debut album the Dilouya’s Faithful Circus.

This truly sparkling soul delivery is a delightful breakaway from time.
