To All my brazilian peeps: Mochilla’s Timeless is landing in Sao Paulo & Rio

VTech and Mochilla have collaborated on many groundbreaking musical events, but the pinnacle was in 2009 witht the amazing Timeless Series that was brought to Los Angeles. It truly was the beginning. Where musical borders were no longer seen as obstacles, and where composer arrangers who were once overlooked were wholeheartedly embraced. From the series, celebrated Brasilian composer/arranger was one of three, and now, we find the Timeless series traveling to Arthur’s home country in fitting fashion.

J.Rocc, Coleman and B+ will be in Sao Paulo from February 9-11th screening at the Espaco Unibanco de Cinema and then on the 16-18th at the Unibanco Arteplex Botafogo in Rio de Janeiro.  Each film will be screened individually and also J.Rocc will have a chance to do his special Timeless Serato Mega-Mix.  There will be Q&As each night with special friends dropping by to contribute.

Beco Do Batman/ Batman’s Alley, Sao Paulo

Street Art Guide pt.1 Sao Paulo: Soma Galeria, Rua Fidalga (V. Madalena)

SOMA, is a gallery, a snack bar, a concert venue, a concept store AND a magazine! Just like a creative lab, Soma is the reunion of A&R, painters, photographers and illustrators from Sao Paulo. Located in Vila Madalena, a hispter neighbourhood, the gallery is one of the “spokesman” for the street culture in SP.

Sao Paulo “Cidade Limpa” by CIA de Foto

CIA timeSince January, 1st  2007, Sao Paulo became a city without any advertising on its walls, bus stops or panels. A world premiere for this southern  “Nova York” which is already crowded with people (almost 20 millions inhabitants) and cars (yes, you have to know that cars are KINGS up in here. Yeah, yeah, the zebra crossing are kinda  part of the landscape and pedestrians have no rights in the streets!

So here is the work of CIA de Foto (a paulistana collective and photography agency) in SP, the no-ad-city.

More info about “Lei Cidade Limpa” (=law of the clean city) here, still on Time Magazine.

XOK Magazine, Sao Paulo (Brazil)

Just like Mumbai and Ambroise Tezenas beautiful pics, I’m in a paulistan mood since I know that I’m leaving soon for a long trip in the biggest city of South America.
As I’m looking for every piece of artwork related to Sao Paulo and Brazil, I naturally found XOK Mag. (According to my Brazilian manual for dummies, XOK Mag is pronounced SHOK Mag. Actually, I’m not exactly sure, so let me check before giving you wrong informations…ok I was right, brasilian “X” is your english “SH” and french “CH”. My god, what a painful job to translate every single words I’m writing…)
Anyway, XOK Mag is a digital magazine about art from around the world. As I’m posting this, you can imagine that I’m gonna get in contact with them…I hope. First because I wanna know more about the people behind that cool project but also because they may fit in my documentary project. Did I tell you about that project already? I’m not pretty sure, but no worries I’ll be back with another WordPress document dedicated to it. Just like Echoes Of Concrete, you’ll find art, rhymes, beats and alter-culturalism and some real goooood vibes.
Peace and enjoy your holidays if you’re under the sun. If not, hang on in your offices and check out my blog regularly, I’m stuck in Paris too preparing that project I was briefly talking about.

Hard work today, playtime tomorrow, I swear! (no need to look for this proverb, this is from me hahaha)
